We are delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for our next exciting fundraising event.

On the evening of Thursday 26th May, Kara Wilson will provide a special performance of her show Art Angel: A glimpse into the life of Angelica Kauffmann in support of Oasis of Peace UK. The event will take place at the King Alfred Phoenix Theatre, ten minutes walk from Golders Green Station and set in the Idyllic grounds of Anna Pavlova’s Estate.

In this light-hearted one-woman show, Kara Wilson assumes the identity of Kauffman, a founding member of the Royal Academy, and chats to the audience as if they were guests in her studio, while she paints an oil self-portrait.

She tracks Kaufmann’s extraordinary success as a female artist in 18th century London where she mixed with the most celebrated painters, writers, aristocrats and royalty. A woman ahead of her time, she has left a lasting legacy. Her paintings hang in galleries around the world, not least Kenwood House in Hampstead.

The event will take place in the evening with precise timings provided closer to the event.

Kara Wilson is an actress, writer and painter. A psychology graduate from Glasgow University, she studied painting at Camden Arts School. She has toured her previous one-woman shows on artists in Edinburgh, London and New York. ‘Glasgow Girl’ on Bessie MacNicol, ‘Deco Diva’ on Tamara de Lempicka, and ‘Bloomsbury Bell’ on Vanessa Bell. She is married to the actor Tom Conti and their daughter is Nina Conti, the ventriloquist. She has two grandsons who show every sign of continuing the family theatrical tradition.
