What better way to bridge communities than by sharing books, and the stories within them? This weekend NS/WaS primary school opened its newly renovated library, made possible by a generous grant from the Julius Silman Charitable Trust. We have already been able to supply some new books and IT resources for the library thanks to all our supporters’ kind donations over this past year. However, the school is still in need of good quality books in Hebrew and Arabic to support the bilingual education programme and the expanding school population, which has grown by two classes over the last two years. Currently 228 Jewish and Palestinian Israeli pupils come to NS/WaS Primary School from all across central Israel, in order to learn together in peace and equality. This World Book Day we are launching a campaign to raise enough to purchase two new books per child, and to cover administration costs.
