Oasis of Peace UK is closely monitoring the ongoing political crisis in Israel with deep concern. We remain closely in touch with our Israeli partners, both Jewish and Arab Palestinian, and will ensure that our work together and with our generous donors continues to reflect the ethos and values of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam.

We stand in solidarity with those protesting the Israeli government’s proposed judicial changes and urge everyone in Israel to work determinedly together towards a just and sustainable resolution which reflects the long-standing values of Israel’s democracy.

Judge Laurence Brass, Chair of Oasis of Peace UK, says: “The children in our village Primary School are taught from their very first day that the fundamental rights of the country’s minorities have to be respected and protected. Israel’s diversity is its strength and its essential that all Israelis feel that their Parliament represents them all and not just a vocal majority. I’m proud to stand alongside those Israelis who are fighting to retain Israel’s democratic traditions and I know that everyone in our village is committed to pursuing the goal of a shared society.”
